The Beckwourth Selection (Mostly Reds)
Credited with the discovery of the Beckwourth Pass, through the Sierra Nevada (U.S.) Mountains, and famously known as "Bloody Arm" because of his skill as a fighter, James Pierson (Jim) Beckwourth, was an American mountain man, fur trader, and explorer, born into slavery in Virginia. If you mostly prefer bold reds, you'll receive medium- to full-bodied wines with deep fruit flavors, pronounced ripe tannins, superb structure, and well-integrated oak tones from barrel aging. Many of our reds arrive from west coast wine regions, as like the Beckwourth Trail, we are connecting thousands of Americans "California's gold."
